Winter Bluegrass Jubilee – Saturday, January 23, 2027 | 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Young Appalachian Musicians (YAM) brings back the Winter Bluegrass Jubilee at the Pickens High School Fine Arts Center, headlined by Alan Bibey & Grasstowne and Volume Five. This annual Upstate tradition draws bluegrass fans, musicians and families from across the Southeast for a full day of live music, hands-on learning and Appalachian heritage.

The festival is held indoors and features two performance stages, free music workshops led by professional musicians, informal jam sessions, food concessions and local vendors.

Headliners

Alan Bibey & Grasstowne – Alan Bibey is a two-time IBMA Mandolin Player of the Year (2019 and 2020) and one of bluegrass music’s premier mandolin players. Grasstowne is known for powerful instrumentals, tight harmonies and award-winning music, including the IBMA Gospel Recording of the Year, “Gonna Rise and Shine.”

Volume Five – One of bluegrass music’s most respected contemporary bands, led by Mississippi fiddler and vocalist Glen Harrell, Volume Five closes the Jubilee with an evening performance. The band earned 2017 IBMA honors for Emerging Artist of the Year and Song of the Year (“I Am a Drifter”).

In a special festival moment, both headliners will share the stage with current Young Appalachian Musicians students and alumni. Throughout the day you’ll also hear local and regional bands, including YAM alumni groups such as Creekwater Collective and The Wilder Flower.
