Presented by the South Carolina Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology (SCIAA)
The South Carolina Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology is coming to the Hagood Creek Petroglyph Site for a special event: Artifact Identification Day!
Do you have locally found treasures like arrowheads, pottery shards, or other interesting artifacts? This is your chance to have them professionally identified and learn more about their historical significance.
State Archaeologist Chris Judge and Lamar Nelson, Chief of the Eastern Cherokee, Southern Iroquois, and United Tribes of South Carolina, will be on hand to identify items and provide insights about the history connected to them.
Bring your discoveries and join us for a day of exploration and education. Whether it’s a cherished family heirloom or a recent find, our experts are excited to see what you’ve uncovered and share their knowledge.
